Natural Methods for Enhancing Quality of Life
The traditional hospice team includes healthcare professionals from numerous disciplines as well as volunteers. Samaritan’s hospice team also includes complementary therapists who provide supportive care and comfort through natural approaches.
Complementary Therapies refer to treatments that are used alongside ("complementary to") conventional medical care. They often promote a mind -- body -- spirit connection that soothes and comforts many of our patients and the people who care for them. At Samaritan Hospice, we have found that these approaches, while not medical in nature, have essential therapeutic value to those coping with the end of life.
Though not required or covered by Medicare, Medicaid and many private insurers, the services of Samaritan's complementary therapists are made possible through generous donations to our Samaritan Fund.
