Gifts to Remember or Honor Someone
Memorial Giving
Many families ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Samaritan. The family of the person remembered will receive notification of the gift, but never the gift amount. To establish a permanent memorial fund, see Loving Tribute Fund.
Moving ceremonies are held throughout Samaritan's service area at the beginning of December. Individuals can make a donation and dedicate a light on one of the trees in honor or in memory of their loved one. The short program includes candle lightings, readings, songs and the lighting of the tree with the dedicated lights followed by fellowship and light refreshments.
Families may choose to create a specific fund named after their loved one. They can create special events to grow the Fund, or make donations to commemorate special anniversaries.
Many fundraisers that our friends in the community organize are in memory of loved ones who received care from Samaritan.
The Wall of Remembrance, located at the Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center in Mt. Holly, provides an opportunity to create a lasting tribute to a loved one.
Matching Gifts
The impact of your generosity can multiply if your employer matches your gift. Please check to see if your organization takes part in a matching gift program and provide Samaritan with the necessary contact information or paperwork.
If you have questions or would like to discuss a giving opportunity, please call (800) 229-8183 and ask to speak with a member of the Development Department.
