Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Leadership Team

Mary Ann Boccolini, MS, BSN
President/CEO

Mary Ann Boccolini is the President and CEO of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice. Mary Ann joined Samaritan as the Director of Clinical Operations in 1997. Since becoming President/CEO in 2001, Mary Ann has established Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice as the region's most experienced provider of end-of-life care through the development of a diverse family of life-affirming services. She has also overseen the introduction or dramatic growth of a host of new programs and services for our community.

Prior to joining Samaritan, Mary Ann was the Director of Oncology Services at Virtua Memorial Hospital-Burlington County and also worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Pennsylvania, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the National Institute of Health in Maryland and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Boston University and a master's degree in human services administration from Rider University.

 


Stephen Goldfine, MD, DABFP, CAQGM, DABHPM
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Stephen Goldfine is the full-time Chief Medical Officer for Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice and serves as a liaison between Samaritan and the medical community.  Dr. Goldfine graduated from Emory University, Atlanta, and received his medical doctorate from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed a family practice residency program at Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly and is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice with added qualifications in geriatrics and from the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

In 2009, Dr. Goldfine was named Hospice Physician of the Year by the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. He gained end-of-life experience from his practice at Primary Care of Moorestown and as Medical Director at several area rehabilitation facilities including Virtua Rehabilitation Center at Mt. Holly, the Lutheran Home of Moorestown and Moorestown Estates.

  


Marjorie Ivins, MS, BSN, RN
Chief Operating Officer

Marjorie (Margie) Ivins serves as Vice President of Clinical Services. She oversees all of Samaritan's clinical departments including after-hours and weekend staff and the Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center. Her previous positions at Samaritan include On-Call Nurse and Intake Coordinator. Margie has extensive oncology experience and is a member of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association. Margie was named the 2007 Burlington County Woman of the Year - Healthcare Category for her work on behalf of our patients and families.

Margie received a master's degree in healthcare administration from St.Joseph's University, a bachelor's degree in nursing from LaSalle University and an associate degree in nursing from Burlington County College. She holds nursing certifications in oncology and hospice and palliative care.

 

  


Susan McCann
Vice President of Human Resources

Susan McCann serves as Vice President of Human Resources. She oversees recruitment, benefits and employee programs for Samaritan, which currently employs a staff of 290. She previously had served as the Manager of Social Work and the Center for Grief Support. Susan has extensive healthcare and non-profit management experience. Before joining Samaritan, she worked at organizations whose focus included multiple sclerosis, HIV/AIDS and aging.

Susan earned a master's degree in social work with a specialization in human service administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She received a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

 

 

 


Joanne Rosen
Vice President of Marketing & Development

Joanne Rosen is Vice President of Marketing and Development at Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice. She oversees the development and execution of marketing programs to increase access to Samaritan's Family of Services. These initiatives include professional and community education, public relations and legislative affairs. Her department also raises funds to provide necessary care and outreach to Samaritan patients and families, as well as the community.

Before joining Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, Joanne served as Vice President of Communications at United Way of Camden County. Joanne joined Samaritan in 1994 as Director of Marketing. She advanced to Director of Marketing & Development in 1999 and was appointed to her current position in 2002. Joanne earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Glassboro State College (Rowan University).

 

 


Barbara Sheppard, RN, BSN
Director of Quality and Compliance

Barbara Sheppard is the Director of Quality and Compliance. She oversees policies and procedures of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice to assure all industry and regulatory guidelines are being met.She also oversees continuing education for Samaritan's staff as well as programming offered by the Samaritan Institute for Education and Research to area healthcare professionals. Barbara received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing. She has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare field.

Barbara has held a variety of positions at agencies such as Public Health Nursing Association for Burlington County, Visiting Nurse & Health Association of Camden County, Inc.and Community Nursing Services in Mount Holly.
